NZ Wood Resene Timber Design Awards 2014

Dwell Homes is proud to be announced as a finalist in the NZ Wood Resene Timber Design Awards in two separate categories, each for the Dwell mod 3 showhome in West Melton. This is a very pleasing result for our first-time entry into the Timber Design Awards and we are thrilled to be included with designs of an incredibly high standard at a national level.

Dwell strives to use locally-sourced natural products and materials and timber is widely used in each of our designs and we are thrilled to have gained recognition by the industry for a design that encompasses sustainability and environmental issues.

My decision to develop a house with Dwell Homes was influenced by the clever use of timber trusses to provide large open living spaces without the need for steel. Dwell Homes' intelligent use of full height windows and doors created the illusion of extra volume and space. From the conceptual design phase right through to practical completion was a satisfying experience and has given me the confidence to repeat the process in the near future.
